What do we do?

We choose a topic and dive deep into it. Then we turn that knowledge into something everyone can engage in and experience. We work individually and as a team to put together something we are all proud of that sparks curiosity and understanding in the world around them.

How do we do it?

We research a topic with intensity and curiosity, asking lots of questions.

We come up with interesting ways to share about the topic, including: 

-fact sheets, articles, essays, reports, investigative pieces,

-comics, creative stories, humor pieces, poetry,

-biographies, interview, Q&As, 

-project ideas, how-to’s,

-drawings, diagrams, cut-away, infographics, maps, etc.

Who does what?

We have teammates working on all aspects of the magazine. From researchers, content writers, photographers, makers, artists, grammarians, we need all kinds of talent, skills, and work.

Why do it?

Inquisify offers tons of opportunities for students who want to learn something new, collaborate with others on something they love, and most importantly, share their ideas with the world.

The experience you learn from here, such as leadership, creativity, and putting yourself out there, can help you in the future in all fields. (We would look great on a resumé)

Working for Inquisify is an opportunity to build something real. Instead of writing or drawing for yourself, your parents, a teacher, a fictional audience, or because a curriculum told you to, you will get to create for a real audience.

Teammates will gain solid academic skills

Teammates will learn how to meet deadlines and other organizational skills.

Working on a shared project is a fun social experience, too.

Teammates will learn how to learn as they take on new technology and techniques

Finally, any student or intern that completes their goal towards a publishable article, illustration, or layout, will receive monetary compensation out of the sales of the publication. For example, $25-50 for a 1200 word article.  

How to join.

You can be part of Inquisify in two ways:

  1. Take the class Writing for Publication facilitated by Link Education League. This is for students that need more skill-building, guidance and feedback from the teacher, weekly check-ins, and collaboration with team mates. If the current class time doesn’t work for you, please contact us as we are considering opening up another time slot.
  2. Apply for an internship. Students that are more self-directed and have a higher skill level can work as an intern. Interns will meet with a mentor twice monthly at a time that works for them both. They will set goals and meet deadlines. Interns will be expected to use Slack for communication and collaboration. Interns will also attend monthly production meetings with all interns and students. These monthly meetings are also a fun social opportunity.
